The Ancestor Moomin plate was released in 2016. The Moomin collectors’ wishes were answered when Ancestor finally got his own character plate. The plate’s artwork is based on Tove Jansson’s novel Moominland Midwinter. Besides the Tooticky violet Moomin plate, this was the first Moomin plate that had the character’s name printed on the bottom stamp of the plate. The mysterious, small and hairy Ancestor was also part of the Moominvalley animation series in 2019, where he moved to Moominhouse’s tile oven.
