Atelier Fauni was founded in 1952 by Helena and Martti Kuuskoski. The first Moomin figurines were made two years later. Tove Jansson heard about the handmade Moomin figurines by Atelier Fauni from her friend Vivica Bandler. Jansson was so delighted by the figurines that she made an exclusive worldwide licensing deal with them.
These figurines were made in many different characters and variations. Atelier Fauni Moomin figurines were handmade from start to finish. They used only the highest quality materials from wood, leather and fur. Fabrics by Marimekko were also used.
