Inspector, who is part of the Hemulen family, got his own bowl in 2009. The Inspector Moomin bowl is one of the rare Moomin bowls that was discontinued at a time when the mug from the same series continued being sold for many additional years. Usually Arabia removes the bowl and the mug with the mutual design from the production simultaneously. But in this case the Inspector bowl was already removed from Arabia’s selection in 2015, while the mug still remained in it.
The original images for the bowl are found in Tove and Lars Janssons’ comic #16 Conscientious Moomin and #21 Fuddler’s Courtship. In the bright green bowl the Inspector is seen taking care of his flowers, which is not that surprising since he’s a Hemulen after all.
