The Dark Rose mug is also known as the Rose Moominmamma mug. This is due to Moominmamma being the main character of the mug. Mug’s designer Camilla Moberg’s inspiration for the mug sparked from natural stones and rock formations. It can’t be a coincidence that each and every mug designed by Moberg has natural stones in them.
This lighter red test version of the mug is a unique artist piece and as such the only example in the world. Only one mug per test colour has ever been made, and in the bottom of each mug there is a four digit code to specify the colour. It is very important to find exactly the right tone of the colour that works best with the design. These test versions are often destroyed after production, but some examples have survived into the personal collections of the designers or other factory employees.
