Moomin mug Garden Party is continuing a similar theme with the previous five summer seasonal mugs showing the Moomins enjoying various summer activities. The series was started by the Going on Vacation Moomin mug in 2018. Garden Party will be the sixth and final addition to the series.
The illustration on the mug is based on Tove Jansson’s comic Moominvalley turns Jungle from 1956. In the comic Moominvalley turns into a jungle overnight as the Moomins are throwing exotic seeds found by Little My all over the valley. Stinky sees his opportunity to get some extra thrill and releases wild animals to the newly formed jungle from a nearby zoo. The Moomins are at first afraid by the possibility of getting eaten by tigers, but end up becoming great friends with them after the Moomins save them from being returned to captivity. After these exciting events the Moomins arrange a fantastic summer party in their garden.
The Garden Party set includes a mug and a plate.
