Tove Jansson’s Moomin books include all eight original classic works in a convenient paperback format. The eight Moomin novels in the paperback box set are: Comet in Moominland (1955), Finn Family Moomintroll (1956), The Exploits of Moominpappa (1963), Moominsummer Madness (1957), Moominland Midwinter (1958), Tales from Moominvalley (1962), Moominpappa at Sea (1965), and Moominvalley in November (1970). The books are in Finnish.
The first book written about the Moomins was The Moomins and the Great Flood (1945). However, this work is not often considered part of the original Moomin novel series, as it was not translated into Finnish until 1991. The book also differs significantly in style and structure from the eight later novels. The characters were still taking shape, and many of the central figures of Moominvalley were entirely absent. The final book in the series is Moominvalley in November (1970). The novels have been translated into around 60 languages.
