Moomin bowl Sniff On the Beach replaces the previous Sniff Moomin bowl that will be discontinued 31.3.2024. The new Sniff On the Beach bowl is already a third bowl in the Moomin by Arabia Classics Collection that features Sniff as the main character. The bowl is also known as Moomin bowl Sniff blue.
The illustration on the Moomin bowl Sniff On the Beach is based on Tove Jansson’s first Moomin comic Moomin and the Brigands (1954-55). In the comic, numerous friends and relatives arrive at the Moominhouse. The rising number of guests leaves Moomintroll without a place to sleep. Sniff decides to help his friend to build a new, own house to sleep in. To finance this housing project Sniff invents an elixir of youth and starts to sell it around Moominvalley. The elixir turns out to be a magic potion that turns everything into their opposite. The illustration on the bowl shows Sniff offering this potion to a turtle that turns into a bullet train. On the other side of the bowl Sniff is gazing at the sunset, probably dreaming of riches and becoming famous. Next to Sniff is Shadow, a helpful little creature who follows Moomintroll and Sniff nearly everywhere.
The Sniff On the Beach dish is the last Arabia Classics Collection together with the Muskrat-collection illustrated by Tove Slotte, who retired in 2022.
