Moomin mug Family 0.4l is made by Moomin Arabia. The mug is exclusively sold only at Finnish retail chain Kesko’s K-stores and K-Citymarket online store from 19th of August 2024 until 12th of January 2025. The mug is a part of a collection that consists of four mugs, two bowls and a range of other Moomin items.
This Family Moomin mug features several similar elements from the original Family Moomin mug launched back in 2002. The mug was originally being sold from 2002 until 2009. However, Citymarket managed to get the mug in their selection in 2011 and the production was restarted for one year. The illustration has been pieced together from multiple Tove and Lars Jansson’s works: comic #17 Moomin and the Comet (1958), novel Moominland Midwinter (1957), comic #8 Moomin Begins a New Life (1956) and Moomipappa from Lars Jansson’s comic #70 Moominpappa and Old Age (1974).
