Moomin mug Snow moonlight continues Tove Jansson’s story Moominland Midwinter (1957), describing the wonderful winter that Moomintroll experiences for the first time in his life. The Snow moonlight Moomin mug is already the 16th Moomin mug inspired by Tove Jansson’s Moominland Midwinter.
The illustration on the Snow moonlight Moomin mug is inspired by the beginning of Moominland Midwinter where the moonlight shone through the window and awakened Moomintroll. Normally Moomins sleep through the winter. Now awaken, Moomintroll will experience completely new and exciting things. One of these moments are seen on the other side of the mug where Moomintroll is wrapped in his bathrobe. The bathrobe will warm Moomintroll until his winter fur grows a little thicker and more protective. There are also Little My and a new friend Too-ticky with whom Moomintroll will spend the whole winter. All three of them are looking at the sea covered in ice, where the Snowhorse is galloping away.
