The Moominvalley Park Japan Moomin mug is also known as the Japan mug or the Japanese mug. However this mug isn’t one of the made in Japan Yamaka mugs, but instead a Moomin mug launched by Arabia. The mug was launched when Moominvalley Park theme park opened in Hanno, Japan on 16th of March in 2019.
This 1st Anniversary edition of the mug was launched in 2020 to celebrate the opening year of the theme park. The differences in 1st Anniversary edition compared to the regular version are the special 1st Anniversary prints on the original cardboard box and the bottom stamp as well as a small tote bag that was sold together with the mug.
The Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 kept the theme park closed for the majority of the year. This is why there were only a very small and limited quantity of 1st Anniversary mugs made. The production of this mug has already been discontinued.
