The Dive Moomin mug was the mug that started the extremely popular summer seasonal mug series in 2006. The first six summer seasonal mugs are also known as stripe mugs, since all of the mugs have stripes in them. The Dive mug is becoming increasingly rare to see with the original product label still attached.
Notably more rare version of the Dive Moomin mug is the Dive with Seashells, which was a test version of the Dive mug. The seashell and coral patterns originally featured on the mug were abandoned at the last minute. However, a small batch of just 10 mugs had already been produced and distributed among employees at the Arabia factory. The value of the Dive with Seashells mug has skyrocketed in recent years. In 2019, one was sold through the Muumimukit Rahaksi online store for 8999,90 euros. In 2020, another was auctioned in Finland for 12 005 euros, and in 2021, a Swedish online auction saw the price climb to 236 478 SEK – approximately 23 820 euros. Since then, no Dive with Seashells mugs have appeared in public sales.
Although the Dive with Seashells mug never went into production, most Moomin collectors still consider it part of a complete 0.3 liter Arabia Moomin mug collection. The mug also appears in numerous official listings and publications, such as the Moomin Mugs book from 2025, created in collaboration between Moomin Characters and Moomin Arabia.
