Moomin mug Moomin’s Day 2024 is also known as Spring. The mug is a continuum to the summer-themed Moomin’s Day Moomin mug from 2018 and the winter-themed Moomin’s Day mug from 2021. The 2024 Moomin’s Day mug, named Spring, is the third and final Moomin’s Day mug in the collection that features an illustration of a particular season in Moominvalley. Moomin’s day celebrates the birth of Tove Jansson (9th of August), the creator of Moomin. This special edition Moomin mug is produced in limited quantity.
The illustration on the Moomin’s Day 2024 mug features one of the surest signs of spring’s arrival as Snufkin returns to Moominvalley from his winter wanderings. Every year Snufkin heads south for the winter, but before he leaves, he assures Moomintroll that we will return to Moominvalley on the first day of spring. The illustration on the mug shows how the snow has already melted, and the bright spring sun has attracted the first tulips and daffodils out.

The main theme of the Moomin’s Day 2025 mug illustration revolves around the first Moomin story, The Moomins and the Great Flood, from 80 years ago. In the story, Moominmamma and Moomintroll search for the long-lost Moominpappa. A massive flood has submerged everything, but fortunately, the help given by fellow travelers they encounter along the way finally reunites the Moomin family. The flood recedes, and in the beautiful valley that unfolds before them, they discover their very own home – the Moominhouse. In later Moomin stories, the Moominhouse becomes the foundation of the Moomin family’s way of life. Its doors are never locked, and all kinds of visitors are always welcome.
